I note that people only RTFM when they discover that it doesn't behave or do "as it says on the tin". |

In the real world very few people get what they want out of life.
Also, in the real world, very few people will know they could sync the updated ebook files as well as metadata... since the product description implies that metadata will be synced, but says nothing about the ebook file. And anyone who hasn't read the product description at the very least deserves everything they have coming for them -- because how the bleeping heck do they know they haven't downloaded an app for displaying insulting taunts at them? The reality is that when you are syncing the ebook file CC does not do what it says on the tin. In which case, you have ALREADY gone and RTFM'd. Continue nitpicking, by all means. Unless you have an issue with CC that does not involve your take on what the documentation "should" say? (Hmm, as a logic exercise -- what changes, precisely, would you recommend? chaley is nicer than me -- he would probably listen if it was reasonable.) That is true, but I hardly think it is the developers fault that someone chooses not to RTFM. It seems to me that even though most people don't RTFM, your complaint is very unique (I've never seen this crop up as an issue anywhere else) so either most people don't expect CC to act as you do or they are finding the necessary option without much trouble.

Some apps are a joy to use out the box, their UI's are so intuitive that one needn't refer to the manual at all.
Most non PC Power users only use a fraction of a apps capability and hence don't read the instructions first, they'll just go with the defaults and refer to the instructions when it doesn't "do something", I'm guilty of that. All of my lady friends DO NOT read instructions for anything, if they're stuck they ask how they can do xyz, All of my male friends only know enough about a app to ensure productivity. Notice how folks just get into a new car and turn the key or nowadays push "start" and go. Not one of my male or female friends have studied the warning annunciators in the instrument panel and are clueless as to the meaning and implication of most of the warnings, e.g. when the key is annunciated in the panel it means that either the cars battery, or the battery in the keyless key is going flat, a friend discovered the meaning to that annunciation at a most inopportune moment. A lady friend had no idea that her cars, key-less key, could remain buried in the depths of her "always purse", that it wasn't necessary to use it to open the boot, drivers door and start/stop the engine, also that the car would auto lock if she walked away from it with her handbag, when this feature was demonstrated to her she fell in love with her car, really. And don't get me started on microwave ovens, I sometimes wonder what the OEM ergonomic think tanks are paid for. Last edited by leftright; 12-25-2014 at 01:24 AM. |

Some folks, their rants are so intuitive that one needn't refer to the main text at all.
