My technique with the tapping was to hold down the power button with one hand (left, in my case) and using the ‘Texas Longhorns’ hand sign ��( with my right hand), I tapped the bottom corners at the speed of the amazing Beatles song Helter Skelter. (U2 version might be too slow?) I stopped as soon as something happened, which was after about 3-4 seconds. This worked perfectly on the first try!

Thanks for this technique LOL. I thought my Kobo Aura H2O was done for after I accidentally tried to update via koreader. It was stuck on a white screen so I kept trying to manually reset it by tapping the corners to no avail until I saw your post and tried the devil horns haha
