Thanks for that explanation why I've never noticed it before. I couldn't find a book just randomly picking through them with that line of code in it, so you saved me that hassle!

Could I suggest, Bermudagirl, that you complain to both Kobo and to the publisher? My wife bought an ebook from Kobo in which the line spacing was so narrow that letters with descenders overlapped letters with ascenders in the line below, and I couldn't increase line spacing. The HTML and CSS were so bizarre that I couldn't understand them.

Kobo acknowledged there was a problem (after I got them to look at the ebook on a Kobo, not just the desktop reader) and offered a refund. The publisher acknowledged the fault, thanked me, sent a complimentary copy, and said they'd make sure it didn't happen again.
