Yes, I am aware that I would find that confirmation quite easily without having to post any questions.
If nevertheless I happened to be very fast at meeting the issue, and no mention whatsoever was given of the new firmware, I would make a post somewhere along the lines of "Hey, I noticed this new firmware, don't see it mentioned anywhere yet, and just wanted to double-check that it is safe to ignore the driver's database mismatch warning. Thanks."

I consider myself unusually aware in that regard, and see nothing wrong with non MR veterans having to ask the question.

If the message was really something that was utterly undeserving of anything but our utmost dismissive contempt, then someone is long overdue in having that warning removed.

Since there is a legitimate question, a legitimate answer is deserved. How is it that you expect people who do not know much about the workings of this forum or the people here, and do not have any experience to tell them that you and davidfor are very quick on the draw, to magically know that the absence of large warnings means it is safe to ignore?

You are overly vociferous in expressing your sublime belief that there is no reason for anyone ever ever ever to ask that question. I applaud how newbie-friendly you are.

Hmm, this is a good argument to stick to Kindles, NiLuJe and knc1 are much more patient in my experience.
But then again, so is davidfor I believe...
