A little late to the party, and it seems you've already made a choice of reader... But I use and recommend FBReader. I picked it based on recommendations either here or in the Calibre forum (I forget..it has been a couple years at least...)
FYI, in my case I use Calibre and CC rarely for books. (Kindle instead.) I use them both daily for news and magazines. I know they're fine for books, but in my case they're great for news and magazines, which plenty of folks have contributed recipes for.
