The leather envelope looks nice, but I wouldn't feel comfortable pushing the snap closed on top of the screen.

Yes, I'm a bit worried about that too, and I often don't close it. But the button is rather soft and closes without applying much pressure, and so far I haven't had any problem.

Soon to be tested.

The titanium eCaddy. (for the Sony PRS) It appears to be sufficiently roomy inside for a Cybook, sans softcover. And I think the foam may be compressible enough to hold the Cybook WITH the softcover. If it doesn't work, I've still got a PRS500 that'll fit in it and the price of $29.75 including shipping made it worth trying.

Hey--thanks for the idea! I was looking for something a bit smaller tho--and found this:

http://www.paperwishes.com/products/7509720000

I'll post pictures when it comes!
If you live in the UK you can buy the same thing more cheaply (93p although £3.50 P&P) here: http://www.rivierapublishing.co.uk/a...g/CD_Tins.html, item number 011-0025. (Seeing as they were only a pound I also got item number 011-003, but this turned out to be too small).

It arrived in three days and came in a jiffy bag that was just the thing for tearing up and using to pad out the inside, using sticky backed plastic of course . It doesn't fit inside the tin if it is in its black case.

Pictures attached for corroboration.

It now is relatively batter proof and can still fit in my coat pocket!

A DVD tin cover. I already had it. They come with "Disney Treasures" series as in Amazon.

Pelican cases are bomb-proof and some of the larger ones come with foam that you can 'pick out' to size and shape to hug the contents. http://www.pelican.com

Otterboxes do a similar range but I think are not quite as sturdy. However, for all intents and purposes such as putting the Cybook at the bottom of a bag or backpack they do the same sterling job.

Tom Bihn does a range of portfolios and packing bags and cubes: http://www.tombinh.com Excellent quality.

Finally, the local stationery shop sold me a nice A5 padded case that was just the right size for my HP iPaq Enterprise 214. You should be able to find something similar in your area.

Regards,

Ian Thomas (waiting with pleasurable excitement for the delivery of his Cybook)

In our local hardware shops, we can buy Tupperwear-type containers called 'Lock and Lock'. As the name implies, the top locks on with a positive lock on each of the four sides. There is a huge range of sizes and all the tops come with a rubber seal to keep nasties out (or even in!). You may have similar items in your area.

Regards,

Ian Thomas

I found this for the Cybook. It has a velcro strap on the inside to keep the device in place. This would just be to protect the Cybook while travelling.

That's actually a pretty cool idea. Hollow it out, then reinforce it somewhat.
