I need a test from someone with an Aura, Aura HD or Aura H2O. Or all three. And a Mini too I suppose.
The useragent that is being reported for the browser on my Glo and Touch is: Code:
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.0; en-us;) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1 (Kobo Touch) And just in case, if someone has a Kobo tablet, I'd be interested to see what they use. As I have made the changes needed for calibre, if someone wants to run from source and check they work, that would be good. The attached file has two python files that go into "src\calibre\library\server". Start the server, visit the site using the browser on the device and try to download a kepub. When prompted the book should have the extension "kepub.epub" and be added to the library as a kepub. If you use a non-Kobo device or browser, downloading the kepub should download it with the extension "kepub". And I should mention a bug in the browser. If you cancel a download, you cannot start another until the browser is restarted. |

I get the exact same user agent with Aura HD (3.11).

Good to hear. When I saw the Touch and Glo were the same, I assumed the others would be as well.

Seems this feature didn't works for my h2o, albeit the agent shown on the server log is the same with one in the first post. After clicking, the file extension still being .epub in the pop-up dialog and downloaded files.
Can anyone else confirm this bug with their device? I'm considering firing a bug if it's confirmed. For env details, I'm using pre-compiled binary of calibre 2.27, installed by bash one-liner on official site, on Archlinux. Last edited by Patricius; 05-02-2015 at 01:51 PM. |

Patricius: What bug? The only bug with the Kobo firmware mentioned is if you cancel a download. But, I don't think that is what you are having a problem with. And Kobo do know about this bug.
If you are talking about how calibre is serving books to the Kobo ereaders, it appears to be working correctly for me. Can you describe what is happening and what you think should be happening? |

Just for the sake of clarity, does this just enable easier access for Kobo devices to the Calibre content server, or does it also allow for page syncing between devices?
My hunch is that it's aimed at the content server and accessing books anywhere. I only ask for a friend who has expressed interest in multiple device page syncing, I've only got the H2O and I'm quite happy with it. |

Better access for Kobo devices to the calibre content server. Or, more precisely, better handling of kepubs when downloaded from the calibre content server by a Kobo device.

After looking at the 2.27 source, I realized it only works for kepubs, not for epubs.
Since renaming the epub into kepub.epub works for most books and gives better format consistency, maybe it's a good idea to let the epubs to be renamed in the same way. |

And if calibre did that, what would all the people who think that the kepub renderer is worse than the epub renderer do? If you want to download books as kepub, convert them in calibre using the Kepub Output plugin. |
