The screen is amazing. It is bright and vibrant, even at low brightness. I keep mine around 20%.
I agree. Though I would like it if the TP8.4 were just a little shorter. It's tall, and sometimes I feel like it's going to flip out of my hand. I keep mine in airplane mode unless I need to explicitly use the network. It saves a ton of battery life. I read every day, and charge about once a week. |

Lag causes in Android: RAM use and cache needs cleaning
The things that make an Android device lag:
1. too much RAM use. Make sure you're running at least 100 MB of free RAM. If not, then exit running apps/services, or if they keep reappearing, remove them or replace them with less RAM-hungry apps. Other things that eat up RAM: · too many widgets · too many apps installed. If you uninstall 30 apps, you'll see an increase in free RAM. Having 150 apps installed should be ok. 2. too much cache use. Fix: Use a cache-cleaning app occasionally. I use App Cache Cleaner but there are plenty of others. |

S OK+ for me ....
I must say, having just received my early Christmas present, to myself. of a device my son hopes wil drag me further into the 21st century - as against the Fire, which he thought just about got me out of the 20th but no further ....- I am a convert .
It's a 10.5 Tab S, mainly going on the recommendation of our "WHICH" magazine, who said it was the best tablet they'd ever tested, including the ipad. Now I haven't done much reading on it, that'll come - I'm reactionary in that I prefer a dedicated ereader, one of any of my Sonys - but, as a tablet, they were right, firstly the screen, which is just astonishing, the best picture I've ever seen. Also the design is very satisfying - incredibly thin, light, and really good mix of physical and digital controls. I personally haven't noticed any noticeable lag at all - but then I'm rather Mr TechDunce ..... but, if I can use it and find it good ..... wel, another plus point. The son and heir is grudgingly impressed a) by the Tab S (he uses an ipad at present) and b) by me splashing out the thick end of £400 to get one ...... If the smaller one is anything like this, I'd suggest it would be a very decent reader indeed . Oh, and the UK support line is also very impressive - rung them 3 times, silly minor familiarity queries really, no real problems - and each time, on busy times too, I was speaking to a real person within a minute ..... and very competently too.
