Is there a version of this that will work on a Calibre version for XP? I tried it on my 0.9.44 Version, but the library would not load on the Kobo browser, just gave an error

I just had a look at the calibre changelog. This went into v2.13. The last XP compatible version was 1.48, so, no there isn't a version you can use on XP. If you really need, it you can run calibre from source and make make the change yourself.

Note point three. I've already backported this change.
