Generally an image is display at its full size unless a specific size is specified.

<img src="images/sample.jpg" width="100%" alt="sample">

This is very basic HTML. You may want to look for HTML tutorial.

Apart from that: BMP is a) unsupported! by the epub standard and b) a format straight out of hell in regards of size to content ratio.
