I assumed that it would be like the sleep/wake cover on my kobo - go straight back to the page you were last reading & bypass all the debate about what a mess Kobo made of the home screen this time around ![]() |

Speaking of $20, one of my sleep screen offers was for a Keurig coffee maker for $20. The original price was $120, IIRC. Since you couldn't purchase the coffee maker unless you clicked "Buy" from an ad-supported Kindle Fire, I wouldn't dream of paying to remove the ads, even for the convenience of lessened "swiping." I've definitely saved more than $20 by having the ads.

Yesterday I paid to get rid of the ads on my KV, but now it's still showing book advertisements for the screensaver. Any ideas why that might be? I connected it with wifi after deactivating the ads, and also I restarted the device.

You're not, presumably, referring to the "Reading Recommendations" on the home page, are you? They are nothing to do with the ad settings. |

No, I managed to turn off the "Reading Recommendations" block... although I think it's a little annoying that there's still a little advertisement banner at the bottom of the home page. But it just seemed strange to me that I was still seeing book deals as the screensaver. |

That goes away when you turn off ads. By the sound of it, you still have ads enabled. I'd suggest getting in touch with CS.

Personally, I like having the ads gone since now I can use the screensavers hack and see the cover of my current book, instead.

It's being said that there may not be KV jailbreak that doesn't use the serial port. That means in order to jailbreak you'd have to open the KV and void the warranty on order to jailbreak it. That said, there is no jailbreak yet of any kind.
