Yes, this seems to be the case for everyone. For some reason, their cart system is not working for this item. You have to call your local store, verify that they really do have it, and then give them your credit card info for in-store pickup.

Do they seem to have the Amazon cases (leather and whatever the cheaper case is made of) in stock? On the BB website, they all say "Coming Soon" so you can't check for in store availability.

My Best Buy had the cheaper case in stock. Oddly, it's $6 cheaper at Best Buy.

I also had the bb employee that thinks they don't have it problem. I insisted because I called in advance to be sure. And yup they did have it... in the back.

Thanks rcentros, I now have a Voyage on day 1 thanks to your tip!

I've read on it, but not under my reading lamp or outside (to see how glare is).

Hm. No Voyages at the Best Buy closest to me. Looked online and passed through the store while out running some errands. They didn't even know there was a new eInk Kindle!

Nearest BB per the online info with the Voyage is 20 miles away (OK, not that far but I'm not getting in my car and going there!).

I'm glad "they" took the instant gratification option away!

The tablet/ereader guy here didn't know it came out either.

He at first told me "no we don't have it," then I told him it said so online, showed him my phone, the he had to run to the warehouse in the back. He came back with the entry model stating that was it...

Then he asked his manager (after claiming it's all he saw back there), who called the warehouse. She asked "do we have the new kindle tablet in stock? Voyager?"

I corrected her "it's an ereader, not a tablet.."

Anyway, it was a nightmare and unnecessarily complex. But they had it! And a case..

Oh, then she called someone higher and asked about the street date and if it was even allowed to be sold (on release day....).

I went to what used to be my local Best Buy -- had some stuff I had to do near my old neighborhood -- to check out the Voyage display. They didn't have one up. They had both the Voyage (3 of them) and 6" HD Fires (2 or 3) in stock, but neither displayed? Weird.

They did have the new Kindle Basic on display and I messed with that one some more. It's really not a bad Kindle at all -- much faster than my older Kindles.

Sounds like our BB here! Just want to add that over the years I have found their online stock check to be erroneous, so I would not drive 20 miles based on it.

This week their stock showed several Samsung S tab cases, but they only had one with a grease spot and scratch. Wasted trip.

My BB had a bunch of mindless zombies in blue shirts wondering around aimlessly, as usual. They were of no help, and probably beyond help themselves. The Kindle accessories were buried in a maze like area surrounded by tablets and smartphones and all their accessories. No signs to indicate what was located where.

I went to staple right next door to my bb they had all but voyager. Very tempted to get a 6" fire
O bb had the basic Kindle on display but none within 50 miles... I was hoping they not only have 1 but have it on a disc sale
