But there might be anything at all inside the box - I have 6 copies of the same User's Manual from as many different "original manufacturers". And this is China after all - It may advertise "Linux" and be (stolen) embedded XP. ![]() PS: Know any good tech. writers? I have found a dozen or so companies that need one. ![]() And if they hire out at a rate of one bowl of rice a day, there might be some contracts available. Last time I ended up in the E.R. for a sick headache (I have diabetes so not being able to eat is a serious problem) I took my Kindle along for when I was feeling better (after an IV to settle my stomach) and one of the nurses spotted it and thought it was a great idea and that the clinic should buy some for patients to use. Who knows what will happen in the future.

You could point out that Project Gutenberg has thousands of e-books at least 100 years old.
I.E: Current with the magazines in the waiting room. Nurse: "Have you been waiting long?" Patient: "No, all these people came in before me." Nurse: "What are you reading?" Patient: "War and Peace" Last edited by knc1; 10-13-2014 at 11:19 PM. |

Linux or XP?
Not this week, maybe next week. - - - - - Ordering things from 1/2 way around the world can be a real adventure. When everything works as intended, I get 3 day service from mainland China to the Central United States. **Including** China export customs and US import customs. (That is as fast or faster than the US Postal Service can move their freight within the continental US states.) When things go wrong - all bets are off. ![]() - - - - - The worst possible "tracking status" for the International Shipper: "Your shipment has been located. It is in a container that washed off the deck of the container ship. We will forward your XXXX when it washes ashore (somewhere)." |

It washed ashore on my doorstep.
![]() Now take a few days to familiarize myself with this model*, then - take it apart. ![]() - - - - - [*] I last worked with this sort of bio-med instrumentation in '72 - Things have changed a bit since then. |
