Kindle PW Won't Open Non-Amazon Books Transferred Through USB (MOBI,AZW3) - Page 2

I've tried those things. I've tried multiple external converters (epub/pdf/mobi to mobi) and Calibre (epub/pdf to mobi, mobi to mobi, mobi to azw, azw3). It was working then one day, it wasn't anymore.

If it were me, I'd make sure all of my books were backed up, and do a Factory Reset. I know you're afraid you won't be able to reload them, but I think it's your best option.

Okay, it's a better option than continuing to pay for document delivery. I'm backing up my files again to make sure I'm up to date and I'll do a factory reset.

You only pay for delivery if it is transferred over 3G. Just send to @free.kindle.com and download over WiFi.

EDIT: Thread title is about PW, your profile says KindleDS -- I assume this means DX? In which case, no WiFi...

That's completely my screw-up, on both counts. I found the thread via Google and didn't see it was for PW until after I'd posted, then I had Nintendo on the brain when I typed in DS. I did mean DX and yeah, I'm paying for 3G delivery.

I'm the one who's sorry!

**an edit to update: I did a factory reset and it did the trick as far as I can tell. I've only gotten all of my Amazon books and a few side-loaded books back on so far but they've all opened perfectly. Thanks for all the help, everyone!
