I'm glad I stumbled across this thread. I have an 320lx and 360lx that I used for software development around 1998. The only thing these are useful for at all is playing Solitaire - but I never thought about using them as ebook readers. The 320LX has a 4 level grayscale screen with a green backlight. The 360LX has a 16 level grayscale screen with a blue backlight that's easier to read. Screen is the same resolution for both. I'll have to pull the 360lx out of the closet and give it a go.

Also note that the 320LX came with Windows CE 1.0, but they offered a firmware update (they sent out a little circuit board with a new ROM chip on it) to upgrade to Windows CE 2.0. So there are 320LXs out there running CE 2.0 (mine does).

They don't have SD slots but do have CF and PCMCIA (PC Card) slots, but I see you can get CF to SD adapters for $15 on Amazon. However I'm almost certain these things can't use really large cards - 1 or 2 GB is probably the limit the OS can address. I still have a 512 MB CF card I can use in mine (which was HUGE back in the day, BTW).

Anyway, sorry to revive an ancient thread. Just interesting to find a use for this old hardware.
