I just got emails from Kobo and B&N, but previously I think I also got one from Sony. Does anyone know if Kobo's payout will include any purchases from Sony?

I did not get one from Kobo yet. I also had Sony, Penguin, and ARe for the previous settlements. Was supposed to get one from Borders via Kobo, but that didn't happen.

If I got an email for B&N I can't find it now. I've got one for Sony, but they aren't one of the options on the drop down list of Vendors if you try to request a check, and the form won't let me use "Kobo" as the default vendor even though that's where my Sony library went when Sony closed up shop. I guess I'm going to have to print out the "Other Vendor" form to get the credit for the books I got from Sony.
And I can't find a settlement email from Kobo, either. I've got Amazon, Apple and Sony, but no Kobo or B&N. |

I didn't get a settlement email from Amazon either, although I got a smaller check from them last time.
Due to downloading issues with B&N, I'm going to request a check I think. Maybe I'll use it to buy a Kindle Voyage ![]() |

No settlement email from Kobo yet. I called the EbookAGSettlements claims number and was told only Amazon, B&N, Kobo, and Sony are part of the new Apple settlement (so all my books from Penguin direct and ARe are not part of this new settlement).
My Sony claim is showing and that will automatically be a check, but they don't show anything for Kobo. So I have emailed Kobo at their settlement email addy and am trying to find out why. I would suggest anyone who wants a check rather than credit call to find out their clain number(s) if they have not already received the email(s). |

When did Kobo come into play? If Kobo was a part of the first settlement, then why wouldn't they part of the second?

I think folks are wondering if Kobo took over the responsibilities from the Sony ebooks, since they transferred people's bookshelves there.

I was told Sony would automatically be a check. The reason I asked them about Kobo was that I have not received an email from them. As others have stated in this thread they have received an email from Kobo re: the Apple settlement.

Called again today and got a call back from someone at the actual claims administrator.
I was told today the claim numbers for the AG Settlement are the same for the Apple settlement, so I was able to do the check request for Kobo. Also, I was misinformed the last time. All of the places where books were purchased can potentially be part of this new settlement. So All Romance Ebooks/Omni Lit and Penguin.com may be included. I was also able to file a new claim for the books I purchased at Borders. (I did not file a separate claim the last time because I was told Kobo would take care of it, which was incorrect). If anyone failed to claim books in time for the last settlement, you have until October 31 to file a new claim under this settlement. |
