@Bobioden - for future reference: the Preferences->Tweaks section has a search bar at the top of the dialogue window. A search for 'sort' finds > 10 different tweaks related to sorting in various contexts, and some of them have combinatorial impact. I acknowledge your problem was not the result of a tweak setting.

As HarryT wrote wrote 'clicking on column names' is a very common method of sorting tabular data - file managers and spreadsheets are a couple of obvious examples.

FWIW - One reason I use the View Manager plugin is because it provides the means to specify which View (which columns, in what order) is to be used when a library is opened. As a consequence I no longer get bamboozled by what I did yesterday, deliberately or mistakenly

I'm guessing you misspelled it. Try just searching for view. See attached.

Looks like I spelled it the same way you did.

Tried View, and it pulled up:

Have you actually installed it yet?

Click the button on the bottom "Get new plugins". It has filters for installed, not installed, and update available.

View Manager will definitely be on one of those lists, or the "all" list.
