Before purchasing, try to find out whether Vim runs on your chosen model. I suspect it will require touchscreen.

Forgive me!

It's a shame!
You provided me with plenty of good advice, considerate opinions and precious links... and for three days I gave nothing in return, not even a thank you!

Well, it's not all my fault, normally I'm not that much of a lout. It's because of the links: the first, most interesting one led me to another three or four I just couldn't ignore, each of them opening the way to several fascinating experiments and possibilities, which in turn...

OK, you already know the way such a perverse addiction mechanism works: during last week-end my wife had to prod me a couple of times with a fork to make sure I was still alive, and tonight I had to ask her out to dinner in an expensive restaurant before she started putting arsenic in my coffee or applied for divorce, whatever works faster

So let me now make amend for my rudeness and give you all a big fat
THANK YOU!

And please... les jeux sont pas fait: should anything interesting on the subject occur to you (as for instance a nifty way to persuade a Kindle 4 to hyphenate properly), by all means share it!

Don't you worry about a thing. A day or three is fairly standard as a response time.

Regarding hyphenation -- there is a hack called jbpatch, which can modify bits of the framework to do Cool Stuff, like hyphenation. Sadly, it isn't supported on the K4, and the hyphenation patch only works on the old 5.1.x firmware.

I did, and Google promptly sent me back to this forum, here.

What shall I think? Banggood's reply ("this is normal for android") suggests that either the problem concerns all Boyue T61, or that their customer service is manned by hopeless morons. Had I a choice, I wouldn't know which one I would prefer...
And (correct me if I'm wrong) Banggood seems to be the only dealer for this device.

Could anyone cast some more light on the matter?
