For me, a stand will be convenient. If iLiad can be controlled by a remote control, it will be even more convenient. Though it's only a beautiful dream.

A remote control.... that speaked to my inner geekness. I would love that, though how useful it would be, I don't know.

Iliad cradle for simultaneously charging - more details
I did some sketches regarding to the cradle station. Sorry, the sketched were made by handwork in Iliad and they should be used more for the explanation of the cradle construction.
Generally cradle is made by just 6 different peaces of the FR4 material (base material for the Printed Circuit Boards). Some position should be adjusted before fixed by soldering directly with mounted Iliad. The essential cradle to Iliad adjusting part are attached again in more accurate photo. The both eject button on the Iliad plug should be finally blocked with some material; I did it by electrical wire to disable the fastened the connector (blue on photo). The units are in mm and I do not guarantee for them, yours may be a little different. You should take your own risk for assembling the cradle. |

jbbebg: wow, that seems complex... I don't think I will try that out anytime soon.
I love it that you are able to do such things, though! |

what is this new love object of mine? An irex iliad which is an ebook reader. I love reading books and recently I have been reading a lot. So much that it affected my budget. When I can read between 2 – 3 books a week, then it gets expensive. So that´s why an ebook reader is a perfect gadget for me:
1. Ebooks are a lot cheaper 2. Ebooks require no bookshelves space 3. Wherever I go I can bring with me a LOT of (digital) books and they weight next to nothing. Downside is that ebook readers are expensive, especially the iliad. So I bought mine on ebay. It´s new (never been used), the downside is that it´s first edition which means less battery capasity (20%) and larger battery charger than the second edition. I didn´t really have many requirements for the ebook reader, except that I didn´t want any WinCE stuff. I used this a ebook comparison matrix when I chose what I wanted. Thanks... _______________ Techstore are specialists in a range of Display Stands Services. |
