All it needs is for someone to write the code that runs on a device and to have a server somewhere that it can talk to. That is roughly what tshering is suggesting.

The simplest way I can think of to do it in a manual way at the moment is via a web site with a simple text field you can enter and store the page number. That needs someone to write some simple PHP or similar code to display the page and store. Goodreads already has something like this. You can record the books you are reading and the page number as you go. It seems to be working OK using the browser in my Glo. If you set this as the home page in the browser, it would be reasonably easy to access.
Hmm... I have several nas systems in my network but I don't know how to make this.. but it makes me wonder if I could not use the webversion of google "Keep" for this, it only have to be a small note.. as I set both as start page then my "problem" is solved too.. I know which book I am reading, so only a small note... you guys are great... I understand that the Kindle can do it between two devices by itself..
The only problem that would/could show up is that Google stops the service.. I have free webspace.. but with my dyslectic problems, I would have problems to find the keywords needed to search for a script, and most providers don't allow you to run all scripts or install PHP, so I think it is gonna be "Google Keep" as startpage in the browder... So first gonna find out how to use that, never used the browser before, thanks again for thinking with me.

Or I have to search how/where the database is, and use dropbox... but in order to do that,I need to hook up both devices on a computer and then it is just so easy to use calibre...

I hadn't seen Google Keep before, but a service like that is probably what you want. As long as it works with the browser on the device. All you want to do is visit it, type in a number and save it, then retrieve it on the other device.

Doing it on your NAS would probably be possible as many run a web server. But, that needs someone to write a little code to do this.

It works with both browsers, I only don't know if it remembers passwords and things like that.
"Normally" I use my 7 inch tablet that is beside my bed and function als my alarm clock and use the keep app, downstairs I open desktop version of keep but now it is more simple,I can keep it all between the readers.
