So I bought the Boox C65 Storia (and will be returning it), and if the T38 is like it I won't be buying that either.

The folder system I wanted is not present on the Storia, it is more like the Kobo/Kindle with the cover of the book showing unless you start it reading immediately you switch on.

I may have to buy a second hand Odyssey for now as I can't find anything else that works.

Sounds to me what you really want is your PRS-650 with a new battery. Have you looked at the options available for replacing it?

Or, if you already have whatever tools you might need ... you can save a bit by going to eBay ...

At any rate I would watch the video (on YouTube, linked at NewPower99) to see if this something you're comfortable doing.

I've never been in this forum, even as a lurker, but I have a question that some of you might be able to help me with.

I want to buy an ereader that will read everything or nearly everything, if there is such a device. I have books in mobi, ePub, KePub, Pdf (I think that this is not technically considered an ebook format, but I'll include it as one), and probably several others. Is there an ebook reader out there that anyone knows about that will read them all?

I have a laptop and can read everything on it with programs and the web-based apps, of course, but I want something much more portable that.

I am familiar with hybrids (Asus Transformer, Microsoft Surface, et al.) but I think that with all of them you have to be in Wi-Fi or maybe Bluetooth range of the body of the laptop if you use the screen/tablet detached. So, I don't think that I would be interested in one of them.

I don't think that a one-thing-does-it-all tablet (iPad, Galaxy, whatever) is something that I would be interested in. I would seriously consider a smart phone, if there is a smart phone with an operating system which would do the trick.

Ideas?

Thanks.

Almost every better e-ink 6" or 10" reader can read epub, mobi, pdf, djvu, cbz, html etc.

But usually we have to install additional apps thereon and jailbreak/root them.

e.g. for non-touch Kindles it's KPV(KindlePdfViewer) and for touch versions KOReader, similar for Kobos.

Android readers like Nook and Sony can be rooted, or we can install android apps without rooting them as for new Onyx readers.

For tablets, hybrids or not, (iOS, Android, Windows) it's even easier, just install the free app or buy one if you need the best one.

First, is there a reason you cannot simply convert them?
