I've updated now but it may help someone else to know that it seems the old plugin per se still worked. It was only if you needed to configure it and run the QT4 gui in the QT5 environment that it failed.

This update probably is in anticipation to the pending release of Calibre's new QT5 version.

I know. I'm running the beta. And the old plugin still worked. It wasn't until I saw this thread and saw someone mention QT5 that I figured what was going on.

Yep. I was still a bit uncomfortable with the download, but I had Norton scan it and Norton says it's okay. The discomfort comes from the fact that when I go to the download site mentioned in the blog, Malwarebytes gives me a "Malicious Website Blocked" warning. Something is going on there that MWB doesn't like.

Hm. I had no troubles downloading this. I only have one (1) download button, but that could be because I have Adblock Plus installed with only a few sites whitelisted.

(If I sit behind a computer without ABP, showing the internet as it really looks like, I get the urge to blow up stuff in a Mythbuster's kind of way.)

Probably one or more of the ads. If you don't already have it and it's possible, install Adblock Plus into your browser. I've seen no problems with the download, and it very much looks like the old and venerable 6.0.8.

It is the same. All that has been changed is the configuration GUI that now works with both Qt4 and Qt5,

Almost all ad-sponsored, anonymous upload/download hosts end up on Malwarebytes' "malicious" list sooner or later. After all ... what are the chances that one of those sites never had any malicious stuff uploaded to them before?

Never download anything that ends in .exe from these sorts of sites.

I don't think it was a false positive. I think it was blocking an ad. How "malicious" the ad was is hard to tell.

It could have been an ad in the past, but it's not now. The site is blocked by Malwarebytes regardless of the content it now serves. Once those sorts of programs think a site is suspicious, it gets banned and stays that way.
