It would be interesting too see if turning the device off is correlated to having problem and then look at turning off when in library and turning off when in book.

Maybe they are pressing reset a lot?

They may be doing exactly the same things, but since timings of certain operations in hardware can vary slightly for different Gen3, there may be specimens where the bug is often triggered, and ones where it's never triggered.
