Thanks for the continuing help here. I have downloaded all the files in My Kindle Content to Calibre, but it is quite a mess. Some titles have formats that wont work. Others are long titles like BO0009H etc. Some can be read in Calibre while others can not.

Books downloaded thru kindleforpc will always have the ASIN name scheme (amazon product id usually starts with B00).

There will also be .mbp1 and possibly .apnx or .phl files -- these are not books, they are annotations page numbers and highlights for your books.

Some of your books may have DRM on them which would explain why they are unreadable -- if so, doing a google search for "apprentice alf" should help you deal with that. It is against MobileRead policy to give detailed help regarding DRM removal, so that is the most we can tell you.

Only the files with the .azw extension are actual book files.

The file names correspond to the Amazon ASIN number (product ID).

I really hope you haven't just copied every file from "My Kindle Content" into Calibre. It's only the books you copy, not all the other stuff.
