Something to think about, anyway. I just know the problem doesn't appear to be inherent to the Android app (though I'll have to try all system fonts available to be sure). EDIT: and done. Tried all fonts available to the stock Android app and can't make the text in question "go away." Last edited by DiapDealer; 07-30-2014 at 09:46 AM. |

Well, it was the caecilia font that did it, changing to publisher font brought back all the text. Then I decided to check the other fonts and switched to palatino, this made the app crash, and now when I try to open that book it constantly crashes.

Sounds as if there's something wrong with the book file, as originally suggested.

I know I checked it with caecilia and palatino with no issues. I'd delete the book and see if there's an updated version available before re-downloading. If that doesn't fix it, I'd delete the cache/user data for the Kindle app and uninstall, reinstall, reregister. The ability to change fonts is a fairly recent feature for the Android Kindle app. Perhaps there's remnants of old versions lurking/griping on your device.

To solve the problem I had to open another book, change the font to Helvetica, go back out and reopen Persuader. That solved it temporarily, but obviously the problem goes deeper than that.

Have you tried any of the suggestions yet? Even if it's just deleting/redownloading the ebook?

Try deleting the app and reinstalling it. It sounds like your app is buggy. Also give your tablet a cold boot.
