Thanks.
I just ran into the fact that Barnes and Noble no longer allows you to Download books to your computer. You can only access this via a direct wifi connection to a device. Kobo has books that are not usable on Sony devices due to format, and they do not tell you. Books A Million is very nice, and also cheaper than Barnes and Noble. |

Well, technically you can still download Barnes & Noble books to your computer if you can get their old desktop Nook for/NookStudy apps for PC and Mac to work on yours. But it's a hassle and much more inconvenient than it used to be, and a bad decision by them, IMHO.
As for Kobo, they no longer openly tell you on the product page what format the book comes in, but if you Add Preview to Library, and then check your library to see if it says "ePub (DRM-free)" or "Adobe DRM ePub) under Download options in the book's listing, you can find out that way. But again, it was simpler and less of a hassle when they told you outright. |

I have Nook for PC on my computer, not sure what version and I don't see where to check. But it has been a while.
Where does it stick the books? |

I actually don't know, since I've got a Mac, but it was mentioned in one of the posts in this thread on the B&N situation that for Windows users that they're stored somewhere in the Documents or AppData locations and pretty easy to pull out.
