No, Android "brightness setting" apps have to effect on the T68's frontlight.

I don't find it to be too bright, BTW.

For those of you who use Nova Launcher, you can create a shortcut inside Nova for Onyx Launcher. You long press on the home screen, choose "shortcuts" and then "activities". Then you'll find that the text for each selection disappears into the dark background, but reappears as you scroll. That's how I found Onyx Launcher. The problem I am having is with the dark background on Nova. I haven't yet found a way to remove what looks like the default wallpaper. I guess I haven't changed the right color scheme yet. I'm open to suggestions.

Use the Color Wallpaper app and choose one of the light colors.

After returning two T68's, I decided that maybe the third time is the charm, and ordered a third one, this time from Amazon. It arrived earlier today. Wifi still turns itself off now and then, but so far (he says, crossing his fingers) no boot loops.
