Quick question-Azw3 or Mobi setting on Calibre for my K-4NT?

There was no option for the 4NT on the set-up menu, but after downloading, I see them in the Settings.

By default it is MOBI, but since the K4NT supports AZW3 as well, you can change that in the Kindle 2/3/4/Touch/Paperwhite Device Interface plugin.

While your Kindle is plugged in, open the Dropdown under "Device" in the toolbar, and select "Configure this device". (See screenshot.)

Or go to Preferences ==> Advanced ==> Plugins and select the Kindle 2/3/4/Touch/Paperwhite Device Interface plugin.

Ty, eschwartz! Great places for books! All pretty old ones, tho. I love old classics, but is there any place to go for anything modern?

Changed to AZW3...........I think it was set on Epub.

You won't find a lot of modern books out of copy-right.

If you are looking for bargains and freebies, keep an eye on the threads in Deals, Freebies, and Resources.

Depending on where you live, you may also be able to borrow ebooks from the library. Kindle books are unfortunately only available to libraries in the US.

Check out the E-Book Uploads - Patricia Clark Memorial Library here at MobileReads; in your case the Kindle subsection.

A very VERY large selection of nicely formatted eBooks in the public domain and available at no charge to you.

TY PeterT. Wow, I'm a member of a huge forum like this and was there almost from the beginning, so I can deal with the size. But coming here after you've had it established for years is real overwhelming.

Lots of great stuff here. You folks really put your hearts into this place!

www.Feedbooks.com.

They have great free public domain books. Just convert the EPUBs you get there into AZW3 and upload them to your Kindle, using Calibre.

Forget anything that has to do with Mobipocket. It's old and dead. The only thing relevant about it is that Amazon based their first Kindle on it (buying it in the process), and that newer Kindles still support the old MOBI format.

Here at mobileread tends to be the best place for public domain classics. Most people really put a lot of effort into proofing the works before posting them. Some add the illustrations, as well.
