Nah, that is not true. I have different accounts at different stores and it is not an issue. As long as I open the acsm file with ADE with my Adobe ID, it works.

No. they are just bad at writing support documentation.

I assume they started out with the assumption that people would use the same email address. It would be very difficult to buy a book using an ADE ID anyway, since you cannot log into say Google Play Books using your ADE ID (and buy boooks), you need your Google Account.

I'm still trying to work out this DRM business.

ADE Questions.

Can I sideload a book out of the "adobe Digital editions" folder onto an ereader that has been previously "authorized" to the same adobe ID? (Example: via a USB key)

If so ignore the rest of this (if you want to)
If not

it would seem to imply, that ADE reencypts the book for the specific device it is sending the book to, or that each book has a unique key that needs to be installed on the reader during transfer. Which? or is it some other?

Can I install ADE on different computers with one adobe ID? Can I move DRM'd books from one computer to the other(Example: via a USB key)?

If I can move them to a second ADE instalation, does the second computer need internet access to send them to the reader?

Yes, I believe you can sideload install #1's books onto install #2 and read it. The books are encrypted with a per-account key.
