Which one did you get? I get the cahiers, one stays by the phone, and one in my back pocket to keep an oh so exciting medical journal for my neurologist. He just loves getting them in fact. He always smiles, takes it, leans back, and says, "Well, let's just see here!" as he reads through it. Then he closes it, pats it, and in the file it goes. For my "working" journal (poems, etc.) I like the smaller black journals with the strap, grid ruled. I may need to get the bigger sketch book, since ZP says I need to draw bigger to improve my skill at nudies. |

S'ok - I just did some research, and it turns out they don't use actual moles . They must lose loads of potential customers with a brand name like that. Somebody has written a 'book' called "How to Make a Complete Map of Every Thought you Think" which discusses notebooks - http://www.speakeasy.org/~lion/nb/ the approach taken seems rather OTT to me. (I've never had a thought worth that much trouble .) |

hee ! sparrow, i thought you were joking... moleskine is the name of a kind of cloth in french, it looks sort of like leather, it was used a lot for the benches in cafés. actually i thought it was an english word... what do you call that cloth in english then ?

It's one of the grid ruled pocket size. I wanted something small, since I don't draw worth a crap and i am fixated on grid lines.

My research started and ended at Wikipedia: "Although the name implies otherwise, the notebook is not bound in moleskin, but in oilcloth-covered cardboard." | |

heh, not sure what "pleather" is exactly... the online dictionary translates it as "imitation leather" some help that is. the definition of it in french is : cotton canvas covered with a supple varnish imitating leather. so is that pleather ? EDIT (notices sparrow replied already) well there you go then... |
