user743, i don't know how to do what you're saying. i've tried looking in the manage drives window but there was no access to be granted and no performable operation available to me.

Windows explorer > Organize > folder and search options > view > (uncheck this selection) hide empty drivers in the computer folder.

it probably won't give you access to the kindle but there a chance. if it works i wont be able to help you any longer

worse comes to worst you contact Amazon they might still have remote access to your kindle if the wifi was on.
