Kindle firmware (on the paperwhite) was a complete and utter disaster, for me personally, after the cloud collections update. (I currently have a PW1 running a firmware from sometime in 2013, which has been blocked against all future updates).

The Kobo guys send an awful lot of updates out. Yay for them for constantly working on and upgrading their firmware! Since I don't, as a rule, turn on the wifi on my Kobo(s), I can pick and choose which updates I want.

Is it bad? I noticed they are releasing another xbox one for $100 less, still more than I want to pay, but my two boys have birthdays in September.

You quoted me, but that's not what I said I said "Mini Aura HD" which I thought was self explanatory: a 5" HD lighted screen.

That's pretty close to what the AURA is now....but I am all for throwing money at a new and improved Kobo.

For the life of me, I can't remember where I saw it, or who said it. But I'm sure it's true.

Does firmware not get named like software? I feel like it should. Anyway, I hope Kobo continue to improve on that front, I appreciate that they're more feature rich than the Nook and Kindle.

I've been thinking of moving over to Kobo. But naive as it may be, I'm still hoping that Nook might come good later on this year, if not I'll make the switch. Especially if Kobo put out something good.

Yes, yes, they have to. And this time, it's going to be the same shape and size as the new large screen Amazon Kindle so that all the cases and accessories that fit the new Kindle will work on the Aura HD as well.
