I'm thrilled to see S&S add thier backlist to Scribd. I had no problems finding new books to read before and now I know I'll have a lot of future reading as well. As long as the price stays under $10/month I'll keep my subscription going.
I have hundreds of ebooks in my calibre library and will continue to buy new ebooks, but it is nice to be able to pull out my iphone or android tablet at the doctors office and find something new to read without having to pre-load it onto my device. I use Scribd mostly to find new authors and expand my reading experience. I'm far more likely to try out a new author or genre if I know it won't cost me extra and I haven't lost anything if I don't like the book and just stop reading it. |
