Like Dr Drib, I also have dual residency, in my case in the US and in Costa Rica, Central America. My Amazon account and my Kindle devices are all registered to my US address and funded by a Visa check card issued by my US bank, so I've never had any problems buying Kindle books from the US Kindle store, with US prices.
However, I also have a Google Nexus 7 and a B&N HD+ which I bought from Costa Rica and had shipped to me from the US during the days when both devices were sold in the US only. For me, the solution was easy and worked fine. I use a mail and package forwarding service based in Miami, which gives me a physical address for package delivery as well as a P.O. Box for mail delivery and a local Miami telephone number. The account is free. They only charge for actual delivery services. Next, I called my local bank in Costa Rica and had them change my local Visa bank card to an international card, since it was originally issued as only a national card, and had them add my Miami address as an additional billing address. All of this was completely routine and easy to do. I set up my Google account and my B&N account with my Miami address and my Costa Rican Visa check card, also using the Miami address. I've never had problems using either account as US-based. I'd assume the same would work with an Amazon account. Of course, this doesn't work for videos and other content which is geo-restricted and tracked by ip address, unless you add the additional step of obtaining a vpn service with US-based servers. I use ibVPN, which is one of the least inexpensive ones and has always worked great for me. |

The one time I switched Kindle stores to be able to get at a book, I immediately received an email asking me to prove, within two months, that I actually lived in the new country, or switch back as soon as possible. A warning was issued that, should I keep buying from the new countries catalog without proving I had moved there, access to the Kindle address/movement page could be restricted.

They said that you could prove that you lived in the new country in several ways, such as providing bills you were paying, such as rent, landline phone, etcetera. There were several other options. |
