Write complete descriptive titles when starting a new thread

Maybe I have a special user level that I am not aware of outside of the calibre forums. Or maybe my ability to change the title of the thread I tested on is time limited until there is a reply to the first post at which point maybe the title of the thread gets locked. But in my test I was able to change the thread title.

Do me a favor and please go to your first post and click Edit then click Go Advanced you will be able to change the title and since it is the first post changing that title should change the thread title. Once you change the title click save and let me know if the thread title gets changed too.

Just tried that on one of the threads I initiated. It allowed me to change the title for the post, but not for the thread which stayed unchanged (even though I was modifying the title of the first post in the thread).

Thanks for checking. I think I was able to change my test case because it wasn't yet a thread. By this I mean there was no reply to my post.

Could also be a time limited - I have seen that on some boards (although phpBB I think) where you can change title and delete the post(thread) if there are no replies and it's within 10 minutes of original post time.

it would be good if the board software could opine: your title is too short - please try harder

I did the same thing which didn't work.

Maybe it's the time or I'd need more karma to do that.
