THANKS everyone for all your hard work on formatting the books that are posted here--your work is much appreciated!

Quick question to anyone who knows--I haven't bought any books from Sony Connect yet--are all of their books formatted with the same annoying (to me anyway) wide margins?

Thanks!

Yes, the books have the same margin, the same font, basically the same look. However, I'm one of the few people in the minority here, as I actually like the way they look on the Reader. The errors are not as glaring; in fact, every ebook has certain errors in them, just like printed titles.

Basically, if you find the classics from Sony to be objectionable in certain ways, then I think perhaps you'll feel the same way about their "regular" titles.

I've probably bought about 40 titles from them. Only one of those titles did I personally find lacking.

The classics and PD here on MobileRead are much better - I'll certainly agree with Harry and many others here. I'm one of the people - along with Harry and others - who regularly upload titles.

Harry--

I've been playing with Book Designer a little, and have been following your excellent tutorial. When I feel like I've got the hang of it--and find some books that haven't been posted already, I'm certainly planning on doing this!

Dr. Drib--
Thanks for the info. I don't really mind the wide margins that much--it just seems like a waste of space and makes for more inefficient readings with more page turns.

I'm sure I'll be buying some books from Sony's Connect store soon. I do have quite a few "classics" in my to read list right now though!

My wife and I have bought 10+ books from Sony. Most have margins which are slightly too big, but still perfectly fine in my opinion.

"The Echo Maker" had extremely wide margins. Only half of the available screen was used.
