My PW 2012 and PW 2013 look like twins now. I had to delete several duplicated Collections, however.

I'm not sure quite what you mean but I'm going to practice over the weekend. I'm using hubby's as test device. I'll only update mine once I know what I'm doing.

Long time now since last page read sync via "fake asin"/calibre book ID as ASIN trick stopped working between Kindle device and Kindle for Android app. Sync option is grayed out for Android app.

Four of my nine Collections were duplicated in the upgrade. I had to delete them with both the PW 2012 and 2013 connected to WiFi and adjusting one also fixed the other at the exact same time.

Hard to say. They already gave the Touch one major update after the PW1 came out, if you go by their history on other out of production devices I wouldn't count on yet another update (that's not a bug fix) for it. Nice if they do it, just don't get your hopes up.

That said, if the books come from Amazon, then they have a proper ASIN, and calibre won't touch it, so the point still stands .

Or if you manually embed an ASIN into the book. I discussed doing this with @nynaevelan as a workaround for Cloud Collections nags, and I suppose it would sync the positions as well...

PW1 Update! PW2 feature parity!
Is it my imagination, or did the font rendering change somewhat in this newest release? It is especially noticeable on the menu screens, but even in the book view it seems that the characters are a little darker and seem to have slightly more contrast. Can somebody with both an updated and not updated device compare to see if I am just going crazy? :-)

I have both (as I've still not updated mine yet, only hubby's) and I took a look at all fonts today, and sorry I can't see any difference.

I worked out how to sort collections so only the ones I want on the device now show, and I side-loaded an AZW3 with an embedded font so that works okay. Currently converting all my books in calibre to AZW3 and deleting my personal documents on Amazon. Once that's all done I'm updating my kindle. Looking forward to trying the new functionality out.
