I just had to do this to a Glo I got today. I was baffled why the collections weren't sortable, and this thread showed me why, and how to fix it. Many thanks!

Thank you, davidfor! The solution you posted here, along with your advice on another thread, have helped me solve this problem on my Glo.
I opened the config file with notepad, and I thought it's okay to edit (i.e. insert the shelf list line) in notepad directly. But the problem persisted and I almost gave up. Thanks to your advice on the other post, I decided to delete the config file on my Glo, then installed notepad++ to edit the new config file. It works! Now my collections are sorted neatly by name.

Thank you so much for this. I just got my Kobo Aura today, and I'm on a learning curve. It did not allow me to sort the collections, I followed your advice and now those options are available. This place is such a wealth of information.

I'm in the same boat as Snow Sciles - bought a new Aura yesterday, and followed the instructions here to fix the collections issue. Thanks for the help!

Just adding this here as a general FYI in case someone else bumps into the same problem on devices with the firmware that "should" display the sorting options. |

First off, thanks to this thread, I now have shelves sorted properly on my new Kobo Mini.
Now - when I open each collection, they default to "most recently read". When I change that to something else, it sticks - and that's fine, but is there a way to set the default sort for individual collections to "Title" so I'm not having to do that the first time I open each individual collection? Thanks. |

Unfortunately, no. I have tried a few different things, but I can't find an option in the config file to change the default sorting for shelves.
