Maybe you can get google play on the tablet, if you go to it on your browser. It seems to be a good enough tablet to run it. You can find the apk file somewhere on line. Maybe the manufacturer didn't want to pay for the license.

You can get a lot of apps from 1mobile. Some of us have to use that to get apps on our Kindle Fires.

Ok thanks. I just heard that I can use the Amazon app and then buy apps from there. I mainly just want an e-book reading device.

Edit: Most of the apps for e-book reading are premium so I need a place to buy them other than Google Play...

The tablet is running Android 4.2 which, while not the latest version, is certainly acceptable. With this android version you should have no problems finding Google Play on your tablet browser and installing it. As for having to buy an ebook reader app, think of trying one of the free ones first, such as FBreader or Cool Reader, there are lots more as well. If you try the free ones they will give you the chance to see what is available and what your needs are.

You can't install Google Play - either it comes with it, or it doesn't.

The only way you could install it would be rooting and flashing the necessary binaries, but given the questions you're asking in this thread, that's outside your comfort zone.

By the way, are there any possible problems I might run into if I only have the Amazon Appstore as my exclusive place to get apps?

I might just wipe the Android device because I installed a lot of uneccessary apps. How do I wipe it so that it's in the same state as when I first bought it?

How do I do this? I want to 'wipe' the device in case I picked up some malicious software.
