Why does Dr. Drib spam in every thread in flea market?

Not everybody looks at all the threads. This is like complaining that a manufacturer puts warnings on all the products in a category.

food for thought - what does a person's post quantity have to do with their quality as a person? nothing! someone could register, post a bunch of things, sit on the account for a while, and then once enough time has elapsed they're magically deemed "a good human being" and sure to never scam anyone? what about the honest person who simply has items to sell but isn't interested in endless posts?

Because it's a signature that doesn't exceed the official size limit? And because it is amusing in a quaint way? And because it's different from the last time I looked, which must have been a long time ago?

Nothing at all. But someone with a track record and a presence on MobileRead is less likely to try to scam other members.

Ummm....your post count doesn't go up over time if you sit on your account.

but sitting gets someone that 6-month magic date after which said someone is magically a non-scammer.

Well for ereaders and such (at least) there is the Flea Market forum. And there are other sites like Ebay and Craigslist for selling things as well. And how can posts be random if threads have definite topics like the ebook support thread for those who are addicted to buying x many ebooks a month. There are plenty of non-random threads here to post in.

It's a signature. If you don't like seeing signatures, there's an option to turn them off in your user control panel.

s for what it is: open any dictionary , look up the terms "signature" and "spam" decide which fits better

i don't like seeing multiple lines of drivel which have nothing to do with the topic being posted on. On a smart phone or tablet, that's half a screen wasted on something that I've seen dozens of times already and which was not even funny the 1st time around.
If I have to turn off ALL sensible signatures in order to suppress it, then so be it - but I think it's very bad manners to inflict such dross on all readers. I suppose the alternative is to ignore the poster, that is tempting.

it's not a signature. quick test is: can it be quoted in a reply? yes it can, ergo not a signature.
