Mini OK: Flog me! I just bought a Kobo Mini - white - Page 2

Welcome to the Kobo Mini Owners clan! My white Kobo Mini was my first eReader (still less than a year ago??! Feels longer). I LOVE it, and actually prefer it over the black. White is better when you are in the hot sun reading a book by the water

I joined the Mini club a couple of weeks ago too. I found a black one at QVC. It must have been one of the last ones because they're no longer available. I am really liking the size and it fits in my shirt pockets so its nice to be able to carry it around.

Congrats! and welcome to the club- the K mini is a terrific reader - portable and dependable with all the font and text adjustments of the bigger readers.

I have two K- minis, both white, its my first choice to fill time while standing in line at the bank or other such chores.

Of course, it will be some time before it gets here.

I'm already a Kobo Glo owner and have enjoyed it very much (but I now mainly use my Kindle PW2 as my all-around reader).

Still one can never have too many readers!

shhh...don't tell hubby....just found a good price and bought a black Kobo Mini to back up my white one....it's all your fault, Dr. Drib!

Now if I could find a good price to back up my Glo and my Aura HD....

Lol!! So if I ever find a nice deal on a Glo, I can justify it by calling it a backup for my Mini..??

Absolutely! The Glo is so nice. My son uses mine a lot. I often find he uses it without the light on, oddly enough.

The Mini seems to be discontinued, so I decided I should get another one while I still can. I've been stalking Amazon and ebay, and it finally paid off.

That's great to hear! I picked up a black one for my mother's birthday last year so that she and my dad could try one...not sure if they have used it much... but I still prefer my white one - so would have to find a deal on one of those to justify getting a backup

My cover finally arrived [in the US].

I'm now going to have the Mini and cover shipped to me here in Peru.

My new (used) Mini came today. Is it known that books previously on the device, are not erased when registering to a new account? There were some Bibles and other things, 9 or 10 books altogether, left on it. I thought the device was erased when one logged out, and firmware updated, and logged back in.

KEpubs would normally be erased, but sideloaded stuff wouldn't unless you did a complete factory reset.

If it was bought from Family Christian Store after original buyer setting up Kobo Account it downloaded following free books; New International Bible, Voice Bible, and King James Version Bible from Kobo Store. These books also downloaded to my other Kobo readers as they sync with Kobo store so they are associated with my Kobo Account. If they survive logging out of readers original account and into your account they are some how locked into your reader sold by Family Christian Store and this affiliation would have to be changed to keep them off the reader. Eliminating this affiliation could be important for some religions and countries.

Oh, interesting, I bet that was it. I am surprised that they stayed like that. But no matter, they are gone now, and I don't intend to turn wifi back on.

Do you like the case? I got a Mini last night from the Family Bookstore since my Sony PRS-350 is currently on a ship, I left it there two days ago. I will get it back but don't know how soon.

The cover for the Mini from Kobo they sold at the Family Bookstore made the Mini much too big. I could no longer slip it in my back pocket. I couldn't believe how bulky the cover was. The cover for the Sony is still small enough to allow it to be slipped into my pocket. Is the cover you have small enough for a back pocket of a pair of Levis?
