Then I have to edit the metadata individually - which is OK, but I'd rather it defaulted to my preferred style.
In the tag browser (the panel on the left with Authors, Languages, Series, Tags etc), right-click on Series and choose Manage Series. You will be presented with a dialog showing all the series in your library. Change them however you want. When you press OK, all the books will be updated to reflect any changes you made.

My problem with series is related but different. There are series names that are so "common" for lack of another word that they occur frequently. One in particular is Dragon Age. I have used The Dragon Age for the second instance and need to find yet another for the third.

Every time I update metadata for a book in these series I need to modify the series name and number.

Not huge but happening more and more as my library grows.

In the library GUI the Series column keeps them all in order according to "series:Star Wars" which is where in the overall canon order the book goes. Although I admit I haven't actually gotten around to sorting the order out yet.

Similarly,
Code:
title:        Magician's End
Series:       Riftwar [27]
#subseries:   ChaosWar Saga [3]
For listing in order, go with main series/universe order. Then list #subseries (custom column, type "Text column for keeping series-like information") afterward, where it won't interfere with the sort order.
I'm looking at my LONG list of Star Wars and Star Trek books and wondering is there a numbered list (series/subseries) somewhere? There are plenty of lists available, but none of them numbered.

Another question- Would you recommend numbering the series: Star Wars 1; subseries 1-10, Star Wars 2; subseries 1-10 OR Star Wars 1-10; subseries 1-10, Star Wars 11-20; suberies 1-10? I'm kind of thinking the first option might be easier to manage in the long run but open to suggestions. I don't want to get halfway through editing all the metadata then decide I want to change my system!

@Inferno,

The Quarantine And Scrub add-on/plug-in has some tools that may help you in correcting the Title, Series and Indexes for books with the identical Author using that same data scraped from a Web Source. I suggest downloading the User Instructions .pdf to see if what is described (as of: Release 2.8.1 16 November 2014) on pages: 22, 23, 24, 27, 28, and 29.

The add-on/plug-in original post is at: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=247425

If that does not help, please PM me a message with more details about and examples of your problem so I can look into enhancing Q&S to solve it.
