We are surrounded by clocks, bedside clocks, kitchen clocks, wall clocks, microwave clocks, stove clocks, wrist clocks, phone clocks, mantle clocks, grandfather clocks, radio clocks, church bell clocks, Imam call to prayer clock (at precisely sunrise and sunset), there's so much time available it can drive one cuckoo.
Google glass will provide time in your face, and you can read at the same time, and tweet, and facebook, and skype, and IM, and PM, infact you can then do everything except read the book in front of you. The purpose of reading is to pass the time, not keep track of it, and if I REALLY need to know the time I'll tap once for the menu. A uncluttered page is a happy page, I really don't want tons of data displayed in all corners which would distract from the simple, basic, pleasure of reading. |

I don't typically wear my watch to bed ...
I'm a brand new Kobo user and just wondered if it would do something I was used to ... it won't. The end. |

For me who hardly ever wears a watch anymore after losing one (my purse strap brushes against the leather buckle, opens it and it falls off, the pins have popped out a few times and again it falls off... all but once I noticed it right away and found them, but the one lost had a lot of sentimental value), and who usually sits in parks or at the lakefront killing time before an appointment where there are no clocks, having the time always visible at the bottom of a page is essential for me. Having tor repeatedly bring up the top menu to keep checking the time interrupts the flow of reading for me, and haven't you ever been so engrossed in a book that you totally lost track of time? I'd eventually forget to check the time.
The perfect solution of course is an option to keep the time visible or not, everyone's happy then. There's more than enough room in that huge bottom margin to add it at the right side. I'd be tempted to install Coolreader, but I doubt it will work with firmware 2.4.0, which is what I'm sticking with for several reasons. |

".4.0 is february 2013, while Coolreader started in September 2013, so it should definitely work on your device, I would have thought.

Best watch strap retaining pins has 1 long cylinder with spring loaded pins at each end that fit into holes in watch lugs. Watch pins cylinder should be long enough to just fit between watch lugs. Extra space that is taken up by pins extending beyond the cylinder or by having telescopic spring bars let the pins slide out releasing watch from one strap end. Manufactures must like strap pins with telescopic spring bars because they are easier and quicker to install and can result in lost watch that needs replaced. I always have my strap pins replaced with tight fitting pins. Exception is metal watch bands with tight fitting ends that prevent band ends sliding on strap pins.
Watch band pins shown at the link: I use Double shoulder spring bars not Double flange spring bars to have almost zero clearance between cylinder and lugs. http://www.esslinger.com/watchbandpi...strations.aspx |
