I don't think I'm asking for too much, though. I just want to know where the annotations are kept so I can make sure they're backed up... I'm using the Evernote software for my 'Highlights' and it works great, but I don't think it's possible for me to send that information from Evernote to the PRS-T2. I think it only sends data one way? |

Ok, on the Mac, it appears the .annot files are stored here: /Users/*Username*/Documents/Digital Editions/annotations
However, when I opened a .annot file using TextEdit this is what showed up: <annotationSet xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/digitaleditions/annotations"> <publication> <dc:identifier>5d49e528-abae-4fb3-983e-3c04d83b7cb5</dc:identifier> <dc:title>Liberty Defined: 50 Essential Issues That Affect Our Freedom</dc:title> <dc:creator>Ron Paul</dc:creator> <dc ![]() ![]() </publication> </annotationSet> This is all it says. It doesn't mention any of the highlights I made...? |

Alright, I just looked on the Windows8 PC and this folder(G:\Sony_Reader\database) contains the books.db file and the notepads.db file as well as a couple other .db files...

I just want to be able to backup the highlights I made on the PRS-T2 and then were uploaded to Evernote.
Is it possible to somehow 'download' the highlights I've made from Evernote to the PRS-T2? |

You can only upload notes to Evernote and not download them.
Here is an old post that might help you with the location of files on your Mac. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...04&postcount=6 |

However, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking for. This was the file that seemed the most important, but I'm not sure: ReaderDesktopLibrary.db |

I understand that my highlights are uploaded to Evernote so there's no need for me back them up because they're in the cloud. However, if I had to reset my PRS-T2 or buy a new one, how would I be able to transfer these highlights that were uploaded to Evernote back onto the PRS-T2? In other words, if I were to begin reading an ebook I had already begun, and then reset the PRS-T2, how would I know which sections I had already highlighted? This is my 2nd question, I guess you could say. |

I am pretty sure ( but posting to Kindle forum would be an advisable double check) that if you buy an amazon book, add some notes & allow sync to the amazon cloud, then put that book on a different Kindle ( registered to same amazon account) your notes etc. will download & re-sync. Only works for book bought from amazon though, not for side-loaded ones AFAIK. |

am not 100& sure, but I'm saying I don't know how to do it ( except see below) & no-one else is stepping up with possible solutions.
Why don't you test it with just 1 book: open it on PC, annotate it, send it to your reader, see if your annotations travel with the book. Then pick a different book & do the reverse, annotate it on reader, transfer it to PC or to your Mac, open it there, see if annotations are still present.... and POST THE RESULTS for other's benefit have you emailed Sony tech support ? |

I predict Sony will day "don't know"
you will have to do tests as said previously test that any highlights created on your PC are stored in that database. to do that - with your PC reader software open a book then 1.create a highlight 2 close reader software 3, rename .db file 4, re-open software & re-open the same book &check if highlight has now vanished 5. if so, close the software, rename the .db file correctly , reopen software, check if highlight is now back again 6. if it has NOT vanished then it's being stored somewhere else & we'll have to think again. Unless anyone else volunteers to do tests, you will have to do them yourself! you could also see if your MAC has the same database file & try backing it up then replacing it with the PC file ( but I don't know where your MAC would store that file, you will have to search for it ) |
