That's why I said "all"...

But seeing the requirements, I'd say: how important is it that you can read in bright sunlight? Because the only thing that ticks most of the boxes is a tablet...

Lots of images. The index for images is at least 50 pages long.

I think that if the presentation markup was better optimized, the file would be significantly smaller.

When commuting, the reflection of light on my tablet maks it very hard to read, even with the allegedly anti-glare screen I put on it. I'm hoping that something designed for bright sunlight won't have that issue.

I currently use Calibre to manage my library. It is, after all, a working reference library, and current ebook reading software is not designed for that functionality.

For various reasons, I want to have that library with me, whereever I am.

Text takes up very little space particularly after it's compressed (e.g. epub, etc). More likely than not, you've got at least 900MB worth of images and just 100MB of text. Most probably, the space used by images is even larger. Given e-ink based readers don't tend to have particularly fast processors, I wonder if they'll even play nicely with your much larger ebooks.

I once reduced the size of an ODT document from 150 MB to 2 MB, simply by changing the template. That's why I think that presentation markup optimization will reduce the file size.
