That's actually what I try to do but probably only because I paid for MX Player, most files it's ok but I do come across a lot where it struggles with playing any sound I could probably fix it with the custom codecs or using software mode but I don't feel I should have to when the other players just work in hardware mode.

To me diceplayer is just a lot more reliable and unlike Mx it can actually find my DLNA server and play files over my network, when you add in things like pop up play, letting you correct audio delays and the fact it's a free ad free player I just like that.

That said if you have a Samsung device you can't get much better than their default player it just works every time with no issues.
