Now that I think about it, I believe I once got an "updated version" of the Kindle Users Guide set. But I definitely didn't get multiple copies of the same KT guides other than the once. |

I just noticed in the MYK page, if you tap books and go to the bottom, there is a link to Manage Your MP3's.
I went there and they have totally revised that page with buy recommendations along the side. It appears that may have replaced the Amazon Music Importer software as well. I wonder if some non-owners of either Paperwhites or Fires will object to that as well. Those, who only buy iTunes, will probably find that link totally useless. There is definitely a difference between the interests of Kindle users with annual updates and those who rarely buy new Kindles or simply use non-Kindles. It also appears from polls I posted at prior times that most of the non-Kindle users are dependent on Calibre and Alf and their needs are far different from the Kindle users. For me the MYK page is great and getting even greater. Those, who don't like Kindles and prefer to use Kindle Apps on other hardware, may disagree. The non-PW and non-Fire users will simply have to tolerate the needs of the Kindle users. Maybe Amazon needs to create two different MYK pages one for users of their Kindle Apps and another for users of their Kindles. A custom MYK page for users of Kindle Apps should probably have a link to the Calibre page and the Alf page as well. Last edited by sirmaru; 01-23-2014 at 05:56 PM. |

But that is really irrelevant, just because it is offered for free does not mean users should be forced to use them. Especially in multiple languages. If I chose to delete all dictionaries that I did not want and then later decided I did, then I would have to purchase a dictionary to meet my needs. Yes I had one for free, but that is a consequence of my actions which I chose to take. And as Eschwartz stated they are all put back on the account when the device is re-registered, so the user should continue to have the option to remove them from MYK. And while I would love to be able to get rid of them, I am content that they do not show up under books. |

Only 4 Kindles left

However, as long as they don't show up under Books, they really don't bother me. They are just wasted so far as I am concerned. I don't use most of those dictionaries either but, since they also don't show up under Books, what difference do they make? If I buy a book in almost any language now, I can send the proper dictionary to my Kindle. That option works fine for me. As one person noted above, our dictionary needs may change over time. We may vacation in a different nation, learn a new language or have some other needs for multilingual choices of dictionaries. I've also noticed that Apps and MP3 songs have been formatted at the MYK page differently than in the past and all are linked from the Book page. Naturally, non-Kindle owners won't like those options. However, I'm sure Kindle owners do like them. Last edited by sirmaru; 01-23-2014 at 08:47 PM. |
