I often use small water color or lens brush while holding reader with screen down then brush off screen consintratting more on edge of screen. Use to have battery powered lens vacuum that would be good for this.

No issues with my Aura HD so far (knock on wood!), I've had it for a couple of months now. Although, it does get confused sometimes trying to tell if my tap was for a page turn, to bring up the home menu or to lookup the dictionary. Sigh, but I love it, warts and all.

Thanks for that, ktkat1949.

I wonder whether it's something to do with the size of the Aura, and maybe the housing isn't firm enough to prevent some flexure, which in turn affects the system.

I notice that often, when I pick up my HD solely by grasping the right side of the frame, the reader will wake from sleep, or put itself into sleep, without my touching the slider at the top. It also sometimes turns pages when I do that, and I assumed at first my hand must in some way be triggering the IR sensor, but now I'm not so sure.

Settle down, mate. None of that applies. I was responding to the reference on the forum index page, which showed a considerable number had read the post without replying to it. Since the point of posting a question is the hope of getting replies, my post was a genuine enquiry as to whether there was something I was doing that discouraged people from answering — quite the opposite of the sense of entitlement you apparently read into my post. And thanks, I do have a life also.

Thanks to those who have replied. Unfortunately, I'm no closer to resolving this — other than the thought that perhaps I have flawed hardware — but perhaps there is no resolution to be had.
