Perhaps if the books were not DRMed, you could borrow them wirelessly though DRMed epubs are not directly supported.

I always have more success setting up the wifi by trying to connect to the
kobo browser, and entering my connection info at that point. Not through the normal (and logical way) of going into settings, etc. I'm not sure why, but a) it connects better and b) it actually remembers the info properly and connects with no issues afterwards. when i set up the wifi info using the settings menu, it doesn't work and when it does, it doesn't remember it properly. This was the case on 2 different kobos, setting up on multiple occasions.

I had the same problem. My connectivity problem resolved itself when i installed firmware 3.1.1.

See the "Direct Links to Kobo firmware" sticky in the developer subforum.

My experience has been quite different, I had no problems whatsoever with the 2.x firmware, but haven't been able to successfully reconnect at all with 3.x. The problem started with 3.0, and was still there in all 3.x versions, including 3.1.1. I'm hoping it will be solved with the next version (3.1.2? 3.2?). As a work-around, our Kobo's reconnect just fine if the router is set up to assign fixed IP-addresses to the Kobo's (i.e. always the same IP-address).

Hello
thanks for replying. Yes I tried my next door neighbours. Finally heard back from Kobo that the device is faulty and to return it. which I did. The new one works perfectly. So much for days of frustration!
Thanks again for your help
