Calibre does not see my new Kindle Fire HDX - Page 2

SUCCESS. I worked with an Amazon person and finally got my books. I am back to using the USB port and it is working now. I am forgetting about wireless. I did use all the suggestions from this forum - update caliber, reboot the kindle, and use a different USB port. Something worked. Thank you.

You must have file sharing enabled on your PC and Firewall.

I leave the popup as it is and just hit okay I never change the default setting.

You can also use ES File Explorer's LAN feature to copy files to and from your tablet.

SUCCESS. I now can connect to Calibre. I don't know what worked but I rebooted my Kindle Fire, connected to a different USB port, and made certain all software was undated to the last version. I have given up trying to go wireless and very happy that I can access Calibre. I am using Calibre Companion.

I may have posted my SUCCESS on another thread. But, I did all that was suggested and also spoke to a person from Amazon. Don't know what actually worked. I did everything that was suggested: used a different USB port; rebooted my Kindle, deleted and reinstalled Calibre Companion, worked with different ip's etc. I'm happily using Calibre with a USB. I'll pass on going wireless.

I have add the same problem make sure the kindle is not locked when you plug in the USB cable as this as stopped me from getting calibre to see my kindle fire

I am having the same problem of Calibre not seeing my Fire HDX. I am connected by a USB cable and have Calibre 1.22. Only way to get files from Calibre to the HDX is by using Windows Explorer and copy/paste.

Try the Calibre Companion app it works well.

I'm getting the same problem. My kindle fire via calibre companion was working with calibre on my computer with minor connection problems corrected by rebooting the kindle and restarting calibre, and sometimes my router. But yesterday nothing helped. I rebooted my computer and saw my ip address changed, so changed that in calibre companion and still can't connect to calibre. I've also tried connecting my kindle to calibre on my computer via a usb cable and calibre is not seeing the connection at all. I'm totally stumped. I can't get any books onto my kindle fire now at all. Can someone help?
